Forest and Ether (FAE) is a Gourmet Herbal Medicine Apothecary led by the clinical herbalist Rosemary Lovesmith and creative director Thyme Lovesmith.

We have partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant a tree for every product purchased online. Profits are reinvested into organic farms, beekeepers, and mushroom growers who grow and harvest the raw ingredients in our handcrafted small-batch medicines.

A Forest is an ancient library of biodiversity interconnecting complex webs of unique lifeforms in the physical dimension, while Ether (sometimes spelled Aether) represents a philosophical fifth element that unites the unseen realms of the universe on an energetic level.

While studying Herbal Sciences at Bastyr University, Rosemary met Thyme. With a shared love of herbology, they embarked on a journey around the world to delve into the study of plant medicine from diverse historical perspectives.

During their travels, they explored eco-villages in the deserts of India, deepening their knowledge of reforestation efforts that benefited both environments and communities. Their path continued to wind through villages in the tropics of Guatemala, where they documented ancient lineages of plant medicines from cacao to ayahuasca.

Inspired by the intricate dance of ecosystems around the globe and the diversity of medicinal plants cared for by each generation, Rosemary and Thyme began the work of distilling this knowledge and experience into a haven for natural healing known as "Forest and Ether."

Clinical herbalist and biologist with a passion for holistic wellness

In her childhood, Rosemary discovered solace in the quiet companionship of plants, fostering an enchanting connection with the Appalachian forests that would shape her transformative journey into herbalism.

After studying with renowned herbalist Patricia Kryisti Howell, Rosemary continued her education at Bastyr University, earning a Bachelor's in Biology and Herbal Sciences. Rosemary's exploration extended across diverse ecosystems, from the temperate rainforests of the Pacific Northwest to the mystical forests of Ireland, as she refined her skills as a Herbal Practitioner with the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. She is currently studying for her Master’s Degree in Nutrition and working with a team of Doctors and Naturopaths as a Clinical Herbalist.

Rosemary's unwavering commitment to uniting ancient wisdom with scientific knowledge finds its artistic expression through Forest and Ether, a gourmet apothecary crafted to embody the alchemical fusion of nature's gifts for holistic well-being. Rosemary seeks to inspire others to embrace positive change and live their best lives in every consultation, recipe, and product, fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world.

Co-Founder and Creative Director weaving communities together

Having built schools and skyscrapers in Washington as a licensed electrician focusing on green energy, Thyme witnessed how the wheels of industry continuously spread over the land’s natural beauty.

Pivoting his career to support communities living in harmony with nature, he built the media production company ANKR.LOVE with his wife Rosemary, and together, they set sail across the globe, learning, teaching, and documenting the Regenerative Renaissance of our time.

As Creative Director, Thyme's work transcended borders. He collaborated with the Fungi Academy, filmed transformative retreats with Denver Mycology, and developed online courses with Cacao Source in Guatemala. The repertoire expanded to include music videos, mini-documentaries, and online courses on ancient healing practices worldwide from an herbal science perspective. Together, Rosemary and Thyme established Forest and Ether, a sanctuary for those seeking natural healing, weaving a global network of co-creators.
